Dava Sobel at the Nott

New Databases & Upgrades Added this Term

The library recently added access to BioOne, which provides a unique aggregation of over 82 high-impact bioscience research journals from more than 66 publishers.Additional publishers and journals will be added over time.

BioOne was developed by the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS), SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition), the University of Kansas, the Greater Western Library Alliance, and Allen Press.

The library currently subscribes to BioOne 1 and BioOne 2 collections. Articles are available in both HTML and PDF formats.

In addition, the library added access to Early American Newspapers, Series I and II (1690-1900). Full listing of content, titles as well as the actual database can be found at http://infoweb.newsbank.com/?db=EANX

EBSCOhost databases upgraded: Academic Search Premier provides full text for nearly 4,500 journals, including full text for 3,600+ peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 titles. Business Source Premier via the new Business Searching Interface provides full text for 2,300+ journals, including full text for 1,100+ peer-reviewed business publications. Includes full text coverage in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics. The database also includes other sources of full text information such as country economic reports from the EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group and CountryWatch and detailed company profiles for the world’s 10,000 largest companies. Provides full text (PDF) for 350+ core scholarly journals dating as far back as 1922. Additional full text, non-journal content includes market research reports, industry reports, country reports, company profiles and SWOT analyses. Also available via the standard Ebscohost interface

Library Open 24/7 - starting November 12

The library will be open 24 hours a day starting on Monday, Nov. 12 and continuing through the overnight of Tuesday, Nov 20. 

Exams are not over until November 21, when we will close at 5:00 PM.
