Trial access to American History in Video

American History in Video provides the largest and richest collection of video available online for the study of American history, with 2,000 hours and more than 5,000 titles on completion. The collection allows students and researchers to analyze historical events, and their presentation over time, through commercial and governmental newsreels, archival footage, public affairs footage, and important documentaries. This release now provides 1526 titles, with new videos from California Newsreel and PBS, equaling approximately 528 hours.

Welcome to the Monthly Catalog of US Government Publications, the comprehensive index to historical information published by the United States federal government. Describing over 1.2 million items published between January 1895 and June 1976, the Monthly Catalog helps you identify important and useful information on all subjects.

The Monthly Catalog of United States Government Publications, 1895-1976 was established by the Printing Act of January 12, 1895. It is issued each month by the Superintendent of Documents for the Government Printing Office, and catalogs all publications of the United States government, including those of the Congress and all executive departments (with the exception of administrative and confidential or restricted documents).

Library Trials Federated Search Engine

The library is undergoing a long term trial of WebFeat - a federated search engine, which allows for searching across several of the Library’s electronic subscriptions simultaneously.

“Any Topic” searches databases across disciplinary boundaries (i.e., JSTOR, Proquest, etc.) Other categories are available from the pull-down menu. Please note that Webfeat does not search every database that we have access to. That list can be found via our Databases & Indexes page.

After submitting your search you will be presented with the first ten results from multiple databases. Results are displayed in the order that they are returned from the source, the best databases are not necessarily listed first.
